Vertical Garden Harvester

Assemble the living-wall harvester: plants in front, cooling plates and mesh behind.

Time

1 day

Difficulty

Tools

  • Drill
  • Level
  • Hose clamps
  • Potting tools

Safety

  • Wall mount must hold wet soil weight
  • Keep electricals away — this system is passive but water spills

How to put it together

  1. 1

    Mount the frame

Fix the vertical frame to a solid wall. Verify level and load rating for wet plants.

  2. 2

    Install cooling plates

Attach the passive cooling plates behind the plant zone with airflow gaps.

  3. 3

    Add copper mesh layers

Layer mesh where condensate forms; slope drains into the 20L tank path.

  4. 4

    Plant the face

Install ~18 plants in the decorative face without blocking the hidden drain channels.

  5. 5

    Connect tank

Hook the collection tank with easy access for emptying and cleaning.

  6. 6

    Water plants separately

Irrigation for plants is separate from harvested condensate — do not mix dirty runoff into the drink tank.

Tips

  • Choose plants that tolerate the local climate without soaking the tank path
  • Clean mesh monthly in dusty cities
